Biography

Dr. Andres Mora Carpio received his medical degree from the Universidad Central de Venezuela, where he graduated among the top of his class. He completed his internal medicine residency and served as Chief Resident at Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia. He then pursued fellowship training in Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine at Yale School of Medicine, where he was also Chief Fellow. Dr. Mora Carpio went on to complete advanced fellowship training in Interventional Pulmonology at Yale. He also earned a Master of Health Science degree in Medical Education from Yale School of Medicine.

He is board certified in Internal Medicine, Critical Care Medicine and Pulmonary Medicine.

Dr. Mora Carpio’s clinical expertise includes advanced bronchoscopy, interventional pulmonology, thoracic oncology, and critical care medicine. His academic interests focus on medical education, innovation in procedural training, and improving access to high-fidelity simulation for learners in low-resource settings. He has been recognized with multiple teaching awards and national honors for his contributions to education and clinical care.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Mora Carpio enjoys mountain biking, hiking, running, playing soccer, and exploring Portland with his family.
