Biography

Amy Yates is a Research Engineer with over 20 years of experience in software development. She has a BS in Aerospace Engineering from West Virginia University and an MS in Computer Science from The College of William and Mary. After completing her degrees, she served as a Peace Corps volunteer in Kenya for 2 years, setting up computer labs in rural schools and mentoring students. Prior to her current role at OHSU, she developed code for NASA, the U.S. Navy, and various startups. She is passionate about data and its potential for delivering precision medicine. In her free time, Amy enjoys staying active by running, hiking, and biking. She also rides a unicycle, but only occasionally and with mixed results.
