I'm an Assistant Professor in OHSU's Radiation Therapy Program, where I teach students to evaluate research, work through ethical challenges and understand how legal considerations shape patient care.

My background spans healthcare law, medical ethics and organizational leadership. Before joining the faculty, I served as legal counsel for OHSU and later as associate director of the OHSU Center for Ethics in Health Care. I also spent nine years as executive director of National POLST, where I led development of the National POLST Form and helped build national collaboration around advance care planning — work that included presenting to the U.S. Senate Special Committee on Aging in 2013.

I've presented and published on serious illness care, health policy, and medical ethics. Throughout my work, I've focused on improving communication and supporting care that reflects each patient's goals and values.

Outside of work, I enjoy good food and wine, traveling and staying active —including walking my dog Maggie and playing tennis with my husband.
