Amelia Etue, B.S.
- Research Assistant, Anesthesiology and Perioperative Medicine, School of Medicine
Biography
Originally from Chehalis, WA, Amelia graduated from Oregon State University last Spring with a BS in Biochemistry and and Molecular Biology. She moved to Portland for this position and the opportunity to engage in research while still being close to home.
During her undergraduate years, Amelia worked in Dr. Robyn Tanguay’s lab conducting high-throughput chemical screening and behavioral response studies using zebrafish. She was drawn to neuroscience research through her interest in understanding the circuitry and mechanisms of neurological diseases with a focus on epilepsy.
Outside of the lab, Amelia loves cooking, bouldering, and hikes and trail runs often, so she is always looking for good trail recommendations in Oregon. Amelia also has pet ducks, which are the best!
