Join the Rural Transportation Think Tank

The Rural Transportation Think Tank (RTTT) is a new statewide network of people working to remove barriers and improve access to transportation in rural Oregon.

The RTTT started as a small working group earlier this year, and after a few months of shaping what this group will look like, we're ready to grow. We're expanding the group to include additional members who are invested in rural transportation in Oregon, including, but not limited to, transportation districts, nonprofit organizations, local and Tribal governments, senior centers, advocates, established transportation programs and organizations that are transportation-curious and looking to start or build a program.

What the group offers:

• A professional network to share resources, successes and challenges with people doing this work across the state;
• Monthly 90-minute meetings featuring a different member program or speaker each month, with time built in for group discussion; and
• A forum for questions and problem-solving where you can bring real-world operations, administration and funding questions to a network that understands rural transportation.

Future offerings include a shared online resource library with best practices, templates, toolkits, funding information, research and other resources.

We’re looking for people who are actively involved in, or seriously thinking about, rural transportation initiatives in Oregon. This includes those who are:

• Running or developing a rural transportation program;
• Working in local government, a transportation district, nonprofit or Tribal government;
• Advocating for better rural transportation access;
• Working on transportation-related funding, policy, technology or partnerships;
• Exploring how to start or strengthen a rural transportation program; and
• Interested in bringing expertise, experience, questions or ideas that could benefit others in the group.

This is intended to be an active, participatory group, so we’re looking for members who are willing to attend meetings, share their knowledge and experiences, ask questions, contribute to discussions and occasionally help organize or present on a topic.

Meetings are held every second Friday of the month from 9–10:30 a.m., unless otherwise noted. 
New members will be welcomed at the Oct. 2 meeting, so please sign up by Sept. 25.
