Within the Department of Surgery, the cooperative efforts of health care providers, administrators, researchers, educators and students allow us to provide patients and students with the most comprehensive and advanced medical care and training available. Ken Azarow, M.D., F.A.C.S., F.A.A.P., Chair and Surgeon-in-Chief, and Sally Rodgers, M.A., F.A.C.M.P.E., Executive Director, cultivate a stimulating and hardworking environment while upholding high standards and accountability.
The Department's many programs collaborate with affiliate faculty, medical centers and alumni throughout the region to maximize resident experience and expertise. Research findings and technological advancements occur daily in the numerous surgery labs throughout campus, contributing to the multitude of medical advancements available at OHSU. Our nine surgical divisions provide excellent coordinated care and innovative treatments that improve the quality of life for our thousands of patients.
The Department of Surgery recognizes the widespread existence of systemic and structural racism in our community and nation. We are committed to combating this at all levels. By doing so we will address health inequities and promote diversity and inclusion. Join us in this effort as we strive to enhance our culture of care and tolerance.
