Study in a stimulating surgical care and research environment

In addition to residency programs and fellowships, the Department of Surgery offers required and elective courses, and research opportunities for medical students.

Our surgical curriculum is designed to educate physicians in all specialties and prepare them to provide thoughtful, well-rounded surgical care.

You will find:

  • A diverse, inclusive and respectful climate
  • Surgical rotations in rural Oregon and Portland
  • Courses in a wide range of surgical subspecialties
  • Support in navigating your experience as a student on the surgical team
