Biography
Walaa Abbas is a graduate student in the Biomedical Engineering Program at Oregon Health and Science University (OHSU). Her research interests are in cancer nanomedicine, biomaterials, and drug delivery using biomedical engineering technologies and microfluidics models. Walaa grew up in Egypt where she obtained her BSc. in Biotechnology major from Cairo University and her MSc. in Nanotechnology from the School of Sciences and Engineering at the American University in Cairo. Further, she received the Center for NanoScience Pre-doctoral Training Program in Nanomedicine from Ludwig Maximilian University Munich, Germany. She worked as a senior researcher and teaching assistant in the College of Science at the United Arab Emirates University (UAEU). In her spare time, you can find her reading, walking, and volunteering.
