Biography

Research Interests:  lie at the intersection of developmental biology and immunology. His appreciation for the importance of training in multiple disciplines is reflected in my previous work, which spanned studies focused on the role of the microbiome in development and muscle pathophysiology, to clinical studies involving the anti-inflammatory effects of stem cell treatments. My current research focus involves an emphasis on lung development. Specifically, he is investigating the effects of maternal-fetal interactions on the development of asthma in offspring with an emphasis on how these interactions affect airway nerve architecture and function. The OHSU Asthma Lab he has joined is comprised of both basic and translational scientists, which affords significant opportunities to bridge basic science and clinical medicine.
