Timothy Beecher, Ph.D.

Biography

Timothy Beecher, Ph.D., is an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry and licensed psychologist in the OHSU Resident Faculty Wellness Program. He completed his BS at Loyola University Chicago, earned his M.Ed. at Washington State University and received a Ph.D. at the University of North Dakota. He has extensive experience working in higher education and is excited to join the OHSU Resident Faculty Wellness team. His areas of expertise include working with men in therapy, crisis work, and addressing substance abuse from a harm reduction and motivational interviewing perspective. Dr. Beecher incorporates a variety of treatment approaches in his work, including interpersonal process therapy, feminist therapy, and psychodynamic principles. He is committed to social justice and works diligently to provide culturally responsive treatment.
