  • Clinical Associate Professor of Medical Informatics and Clinical Epidemiology, School of Medicine

Biography

Dr. Selph graduated with an M.D. degree from the University of North Carolina School of Medicine in 2001.  Always wanting to be a "small-town doc", after residency in Family Medicine she was the chief of staff and medical director of a critical access hospital and clinic in rural North Dakota where she practiced inpatient, outpatient, long-term care, and emergency medicine.  She came to Oregon Health & Science University in 2008 to get a masters of public health in epidemiology and biostatistics which was followed by a fellowship in systematic review methodology.  She then accepted a faculty assignment with the Department of Medical Informatics & Clinical Epidemiology at OHSU where she is a core investigator with the Pacific Northwest Evidence-based Practice Center. In this capacity she conducts systematic reviews on screening for and treatment of various medical diseases and conditions, which are then used to develop clinical practice guidelines by the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force, the Department of Defense, and various medical associations including the American Psychiatric Association, the Congress of Neurological Surgeons, and the American Urological Association.
