Shelby is currently an undergraduate student at the University of Portland and anticipate graduating in May of 2025. They are a student worker in Stuart Ibsen's lab, researching electrokinetics and electrochemistry as it applies to the early detection of pancreatic cancer. They were previously a summer intern in the Stuart Ibsen lab for the 2023 session where they researched the collection of bacterial membrane vesicles using dielectrophoresis as a biomarker detection tool in early cancer detection.
