Biography

Rawan is joining CEDAR as a Ph.D. student in the Biomedical Engineering Program under the mentorship of Dr. Alexander Davies. She studies tumor-microenvironment interactions and her research focuses on the effect of the lung microenvironment on signaling in metastasized osteosarcoma cells. Rawan started her Ph.D. at the Ohio State University and got her Master’s Degree before moving to Portland. She grew up in Egypt, where she got her Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Sciences. In her free time, Rawan enjoys reading, painting, and exploring the city. Rawan is excited to be a part of CEDAR and hopes to both learn from and benefit the CEDAR family.
