Biography

Meg Courtnage is a CDCES (Certified Diabetes Care & Education Specialist) and certified insulin pump trainer specializing in the care of children with diabetes. She provides education and consultation for newly diagnosed, hospitalized patients with type 1 and type 2 diabetes, and also sees patients and families in clinic for ongoing education. She is a certified insulin pump trainer, helping patients get started on pumps and continuous glucose monitors. Before joining the Harold Schnitzer Diabetes Health Center, Meg worked on the pediatric acute care medical unit at OHSU’s Doernbecher Children’s Hospital.

As a diabetes educator, Meg combines her passion and experience in both education and healthcare. Prior to working in healthcare, Meg had a career in mathematics education as a high school math teacher and a curriculum developer for education technology companies. In her free time, Meg enjoys exploring the Pacific Northwest with her two children, running, biking, reading, and enjoying the outdoors.
