Max graduated from Colgate University with a bachelor's degree in biology. He worked at Portland State University where he researched host-pathogen interactions at the single cell level, and most recently studied mechanosensitive ion channels with Dr. Swetha Murthy at the OHSU Vollum Institute. Max is mentored by Dr. Reid Thompson and is a member of the PDXgx computational group.
