Biography
As an assistant professor and digital learning specialist in the Teaching and Learning Center, I support faculty in designing and enhancing their courses through technology and evidence-based teaching practices. I work closely with educators across OHSU to integrate tools like iPads, AI, gamification, and multimedia to improve student engagement and success. Whether it’s helping a nursing instructor develop technology-enhanced learning activities or guiding a dental faculty member through assessment innovations, I enjoy being a creative partner in course design and delivery.
My scholarship focuses on technology-enhanced learning, including gamification, motivation, and the use of artificial intelligence in education. I’ve published in peer-reviewed journals on topics such as digital diversity in nursing education and student perceptions of generative AI. I’ve also co-developed innovative course tools and presented nationally and internationally on inclusive, tech-driven instructional strategies. Through this work, I aim to advance evidence-based practices that foster engagement and innovation in higher education.
I ground my work in frameworks like TPACK, Universal Design for Learning, and the Community of Inquiry, which help ensure that online and hybrid courses engage learners and promote sound pedagogical practices.
Outside of work, I enjoy playing tabletop games and disc golf and spending time with my family.
