Biography

JacQualine Abbe, DNP, MNE, RN, CMSRN, NE-BC, has been in the healthcare field for over 16 years. Her career started in Oncology at a local academic medical center where she worked as a charge nurse and Unit Base Nurse Practice Council member. Through shared governance she found her passion for advancing practice, leadership, education, and quality. While obtaining her Masters in Nursing Education (M.N.E) she transitioned into the float pool and became the nursing clinical practice staff educator. Floating to a variety of progressive care floors, she quickly became competent in multiple patient populations including: Bone Marrow Transplant. Adult Med/Surg Oncology, Neuro/Stroke/ENT, Cardiac Tele, Ortho/Spine, Abdominal Transplant/Urology, Family Medicine, General Medicine, Inpatient Overflow, Emergency General Surgery, Trauma, and General Surgery. Through her experience in multiple specialties she gained increased interest in organizational communication, health systems, and quality. Shortly after she was promoted to Assistant Nurse Manager and then eventual Nurse Manager over several departments including; Acute Care Float Pool, Continuous Video Monitoring, Inpatient Overflow, Vascular Access Team, Wound Ostomy Team, and Diabetes Education Team. Her array of experience leading multiple departments with expert nurses led her to continue her work ultimately achieving her doctoral degree and two publications in the Nursing Journal of Care Quality.  

Abbe earned her Doctor of Practice (D.N.P) from Oregon Health & Science University of Portland, Oregon. She also holds a post Masters Certificate in Health Systems & Organizational Leadership, in addition to a Masters in Nursing Education (M.N.E). Her Bachelors of Science in Nursing (B.S.N) was obtained from Linfield College of Portland, Oregon.
