  • PhD Candidate, Biomedical Engineering, School of Medicine

Biography

Hari Hara Sudhan Lakshmanan is a PhD candidate working with Dr. Owen McCarty in the field of blood coagulation and platelets. He is currently working on developing microfluidic tools to study the physics and biology of bleeding in humans. In the endeavor to develop experiments in studying hemostasis he uses computational tools such as COMSOL Multiphysics, Openfoam and python. He has also worked on developing computational and experimental models of thrombosis to aid the exploration of spatial dependence of thrombosis. He has his Master's degree in Chemical Engineering from West Virginia University working with Dr. Jeevan Maddala.
