Gina Beer (she/her)

Biography

Gina Beer, M.P.H. (she/her) is a Research Data Analyst with the Evaluation Team at the Oregon Clinical and Translational Research Institute (OCTRI). She works with OHSU researchers and community partners across Oregon to support organizations in developing and implementing evaluation activities, with special attention to community engaged research. Gina also provides evaluation technical assistance and training to the Knight Cancer Institute’s Community Partnership Program (CPP) applicants and grantees.

Previously, Gina worked in communications with a non-profit in Central Oregon focused on providing evidence-based parenting education. Much of her research and work has focused on food systems, particularly school food, as it relates to the social determinants of health. She brings experience in both quantitative and qualitative methods to evaluation, with a mind towards reciprocity in research. Gina is passionate about the power of collaboration, peer support in public health, and seeks to ensure the process of evaluation research advances equity and centers community.

Gina holds a B.A. in Interdisciplinary Studies from the University of North Carolina at Asheville, a M.A. in sociolinguistics from North Carolina State University, and a M.P.H. with a focus in Health Behavior from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
