Erica L. Gibson is an APRN specializing in adult trauma, surgical, and neurologic critical care. Her research interests include palliative and end-of-life care in the intensive care unit setting, functional outcomes after traumatic brain injury, and post-intensive care survivorship. She also is passionate about rural and international healthcare delivery, completing a semester abroad in China and medical service trips abroad to Brazil and Zambia. After completing her BSN at Linfield College she worked as a critical care RN for 8 years. She received her MSN from Yale University and completed a graduate thesis evaluating nurse comfort with withdrawal of life-sustaining treatments. Erica was also a member of the Yale-New Haven Hospital Medical Ethics Committee and completed post-graduate training in palliative care in a joint program by Harvard and Massachusetts General Hospital. Since graduation she has worked in trauma and neurologic critical care and comes to OHSU from University of Washington- Harborview Medical Center.
Erica and her partner Stephen live with their dog and cat Boomer and Bella. She enjoys hiking, travel, baking, and is studying Spanish in her free time.Read more
