Biography
As the Vice Provost for Educational Improvement and Innovation, I provide leadership and support to the instructional and professional development of health professions faculty, staff, and students in pre-clinical, clinical, and graduate education. I oversee strategic initiatives related to mentoring and career design, educator excellence, spaces and technology for focus and teamwork, information literacy and management, creative and scholarly storytelling, and assessment and evaluation.
I have more than 17 years of experience in health professions education, and my research interests explore motivation, reflective practice, educational persistence, and cognition of minoritized health professions students and faculty.
I serve as a member of the Association for the Assessment of Learning in Higher Education, Association of American Medical Colleges, and am a Regional Evaluator for the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities, and am a sought-after speaker on assessment, educational scholarship, and leadership development locally, regionally, and nationally.
When not at work, I enjoy spending time with my family, daydreaming on the beach, and taste-testing tiramisu and comfort foods from around the world.
