RHC Professional Development
The Office of Rural Health (ORH) offers professional development scholarships for rural health care managers in Oregon to encourage ongoing enhancement of leadership skills, business knowledge and operational expertise. We believe continuous growth is essential for navigating the ever-changing health care landscape. By taking advantage of a variety of scholarships, health care managers can better adapt to new challenges and drive improvements within their rural organizations. ORH collaborates with the various associations to provide scholarships for leaders in Oregon’s RHCs.

Oregon Healthcare Leaders Association
ORH offers four professional development scholarships to Oregon RHC leaders in the form of a one-year membership to the Oregon Healthcare Leaders Association (Oregon HLA) and a scholarship to attend the 2026 Pacific Northwest Medical Management Conference each year. This opportunity delivers professional development and growth, with a focus on learning best practices in clinic management. The OHL Association comprises a network of health care leaders who work in a variety of practice settings, from rural to urban. This member-led association offers timely tools and connects you with leaders across Oregon to help navigate the complexities of practice management.
This scholarship offering will open in December 2026.
National Association of Rural Health Clinics (NARHC) Spring Institute
ORH offers professional development scholarships for Oregon RHC leaders to attend the National Association of Rural Health Institutes, held semiannually in March and October, each lasting two and a half days. This educational opportunity provides participants access to industry experts on essential topics such as billing, RHC certification, compliance, cost reporting and legislative changes. If you are looking to expand your RHC knowledge or keep up to date on the ever-changing rules and regulations in the RHC world, NARHC Institutes are the resource. Certified Rural Health Clinic Professional Course Scholarship-Elevate your RHC Skills
ORH offers scholarships for the Certified Rural Health Clinic Professional (CRHCP) course each year to Oregon RHC leaders. This is your chance to establish your understanding of RHCs. The CRHCP course consists of four (4) modules: Admin and Finance, Billing and Coding, Regulatory Compliance and Quality, and Federal Updates, with short pretests throughout. Upon successful completion of the final exam, learners earn certification. Additional information about the course can be found here.

Annual Oregon Rural Health Conference
ORH offers professional development scholarships for RHC leaders to attend the Annual Oregon Rural Health Conference each October. The conference is the largest gathering in Oregon dedicated to sharing information and showcasing innovative approaches to health and health care delivery in rural Oregon. It features a dedicated track for RHCs and brings together providers, administrators, consumers, policymakers and others to exchange ideas and share expertise. Register here.
