ORH Launches CHNA Mapping and Analysis Project
The Oregon Office of Rural Health (ORH) recently launched the CHNA Mapping and Analysis Project, a new resource designed to make hospital Community Health Needs Assessments (CHNAs) more accessible and actionable.
CHNAs must be conducted by nonprofit hospitals every three years to maintain their tax-exempt status. ORH analyzed every CHNA in Oregon to compare trends across five categories, including barriers to care, hospital priorities and the needs of the communities it serves. The project includes executive summaries of each CHNA and an interactive Tableau map that highlights topics and trends identified across the state. With this tool, users can explore by category, filter by topic, and compare priorities across regions, offering a unique, statewide view of health needs, challenges and community strengths.
