Pride in Numbers Seeks Participants for Survey and Community Art Project
Pride in Numbers is a statewide, community-led research project by and for Two-Spirit and LGBTQIA+ people across Oregon. Centering BIPOC, transgender, rural and Indigenous leaders and experiences, Pride in Numbers aims to create a holistic portrait of Two-Spirit and LGBTQIA+ life across Oregon through a survey, community art project, interviews and storytelling sessions. The research report will be publicly available and shared directly with Two-Spirit and LGBTQIA+ community members, organizations and advocates for use in improving programs, services and policies statewide. Learn more about Pride in Numbers here.
On behalf of Pride in Numbers, the Oregon Office of Rural Health (ORH) is inviting people in rural areas to participate in the survey and community art project. The survey takes about 20 minutes to complete and is available in English and Spanish. Participants must identify as Two-Spirit and/or LGBTQIA+, be at least 18 years old and live in the state of Oregon. Participants are not required to be “out.” Data protection practices for this study can be found in English and Spanish here. The participation deadline is May 31, 2026.
Pride in Numbers is requesting the following support, especially CHWs, in April and May:
- Consider taking the survey if you identify as Two-Spirit and/or LGBTQIA+, are over the age of 18, and live in Oregon. All ages can submit art to the community art project.
- Share the survey link and posters in English or Spanish <<add links to the PDFs once uploaded to Drupal. They’re both in the April Edited SharePoint folder>> with Two-Spirit and/or LGBTQIA+ people you know or work with, as is appropriate.
- Post the flyers in your work settings, if possible, preferably in bathrooms for privacy and confidentiality.
