This virtual CME workshop is designed specifically for Oregon clinicians who wish to enhance their skillsets in navigating conversations about serious illness. You'll get to practice these skills by engaging in roleplay with actors simulating patients, and receive real-time feedback from communication coaches. This Powered by VitalTalk workshop will help you learn and grow vital skills in navigating serious illness conversations. You'll learn how to:
- formulate headlines to share medical information clearly.
- construct empathetic statements to validate and respond to emotions.
- employ open-ended questions to elicit patient values and goals for their care.
You'll get to practice these skills by engaging in roleplay with actors simulating patients, and receive real-time feedback from communication coaches.
