U.S. News names OHSU Hospital No. 1 in Oregon, ranks six OHSU specialties among best in the nation
Ranking criteria include patient survival and safety, patient experience, quality of nursing care
OHSU Hospital is No. 1 in Oregon, according to U.S. News & World Report's Best Hospitals 2021-22, and ranks among the best hospitals in the nation in six specialties:

- 37th in Cancer
- 15th in Ear, Nose & Throat
- 23rd in Gastroenterology
- 32nd in Geriatrics
- 29th in Neurology & Neurosurgery
- 42nd in Pulmonology
U.S. News also rated four OHSU specialties as "high-performing":
U.S. News Best Children's Hospitals 2021-22

Oregon Health & Science University Doernbecher Children's Hospital ranks among the best children's hospitals in the United States, according to U.S. News & World Report's 2021-22 Best Children's Hospitals.
The Best Children's Hospitals rankings highlight U.S. News' top 50 U.S. pediatric facilities in cancer, diabetes and endocrinology, neonatology, nephrology, neurology and neurosurgery, pulmonology and urology. Eighty-nine hospitals ranked in at least one specialty, based on a combination of clinical data and reputation with pediatric specialists.
OHSU Hospital receives prestigious national award for quality in leadership
Oregon Health & Science University is one of 11 academic medical centers to be recognized for demonstrating excellence in delivering high-quality care based on the annual Vizient Quality and Accountability Ranking.
The 2019 Bernard A. Birnbaum, MD, Quality Leadership Award, presented Sept. 19 during the 2019 Vizient Connections Education Summit in Las Vegas, reflects work from July 2018 through June 2019.
Magnet designation

OHSU is proud to be designated a Magnet hospital. Just 6 percent of U.S. health care organizations hold this designation from the American Nurses Credentialing Center. It is the highest recognition a nursing program can receive.
Our Magnet designation also celebrates OHSU as an organization that attracts highly qualified nurses, physicians and specialists, fosters collaboration across disciplines and improves patient care through high standards.
Public Notice; Magnet Recognition Program — Site Visit
- Oregon Health & Science University Healthcare was designated as a Magnet organization in 2012 and 2017 by the ANCC Magnet Recognition Program. This prestigious designation recognizes excellence in nursing services. In June 2022, Oregon Health & Science University Healthcare is applying for re-designation.
- Patients, family members, staff, and interested parties who would like to provide comments are encouraged to do so. Anyone may send comments via e-mail and direct mail.
- Your comments must be received by the Magnet Program Office by June 17, 2022.
