Apple Bread Recipe

Cut into 10 even servings.  (Approximately 1.2 gm egg protein/serving)  

Ingredients:  

½ cup butter (use milk free margarine if allergic to milk) 

1 cup sugar  

2 large eggs  

2 cups all-purpose flour  

1 teaspoon baking soda  

½ teaspoon salt  

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon  

½ teaspoon ground cloves  

2 apples, peeled, cored, and chopped

  

Directions: 

1.  Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.   

2.  Lightly grease an 8x4 inch loaf pan or 12 cup muffin pan.    

3.  In a bowl, mix the butter and sugar until smooth and creamy.   

4.  Beat in the eggs.   

5.  In a separate bowl, sift together the flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and cloves.  

6. Mix into the butter mixture until moistened.   

7. Fold in the apples.    

8.  If making as a loaf of bread, transfer to the prepared loaf pan. If you would like to make muffins, pour evenly into a muffin pan, filling 10 cups only.        

9.  For bread:  Bake 1 hour in the preheated oven, until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.  For muffin: Bake 25-30 minutes in the preheated oven, until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.   

10.  Cool for 15 minutes before removing to a wire rack to cool completely.    

*Always make sure that product is cooked all the way through.
