Biography

Dr. De Geest is a renowned specialist in gynecological cancers who has been voted in the top 1% of gynecologic oncologists nationally by Best Doctors in America®. He specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of:

Ovarian cancer Endometrial cancer Cervical cancer Vulvar cancer Gestational Trophoblastic Disease

Dr. De Geest’s current research interests include novel therapeutics and personalized treatment of ovarian and endometrial cancer. An accomplished researcher, he has actively participated in multiple clinical trials in ovarian, endometrial, cervical and vulvar cancer as principal investigator in the Gynecologic Oncology Group. He has authored and co-authored many of the publications resulting from these national trials. He has published on clinical and laboratory research in ovarian and endometrial cancer, and on the effects of mood and social support on the biology of ovarian cancer.

Prior to joining OHSU in 2013, Dr. De Geest was director of the Division of Gynecologic Oncology and the fellowship program at the University of Iowa in Iowa City. Earlier, he was vice-chairman in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology and director of Gynecologic Oncology at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois.
