About me

Katie Drago was raised in Roseville, California, 20 miles east of Sacramento. She attended UC San Diego and graduated in 2006 with a Biology degree and minor in US History. While at UCSD, she was active in both campus government and headed up Take Back the Night, a campus-wide campaign against sexual assault and domestic violence. During her college years, she worked as a microbiologist at White Labs, one of the country’s largest commercial brewer’s yeast producers, and discovered a love of microbrews and homebrewing. She attended the University of Arkansas for medical school where she was active in the Geriatrics Department, working with the faculty on research in skeletal muscle aging and sarcopenia prevention in the elderly. Katie’s professional interests include a career as a teaching faculty, possibly as a Geriatrics or Infectious Disease attending.
