Building Community-Led Resilience Networks with IRTC

ORH is sharing the following information on behalf of the International Transformational Resilience Coalition (ITRC).

ITRC is leading a national and international effort to support the formation of community-led resilience networks. These networks strengthen local “social infrastructure” to help communities respond to the growing social, psychological and public health impacts of climate change and other large-scale adversities. Learn more about IRTC here.

As climate-related stresses accelerate, professional mental health systems alone will not be able to meet the scale of need. Community-led resilience networks use public health, trauma-informed and resilience-informed approaches to build population-level wellness and mutual support, engaging residents, organizations and local leaders in strengthening collective capacity. ITRC is also organizing an international consortium to support and promote the development of these networks in the U.S. and globally.

ITRC will host a Community of Practice (CoP) on March 12, focused on building social support networks and engaging residents in mutual aid. They hope you will consider participating and sharing this information with others who may be interested. Find more information about the CoP here
