Rural Men Needed for Research Study

The University of South Carolina is seeking volunteers to participate in a phone-based physical activity program specifically designed for physically inactive men living in rural areas of the U.S. 

Participants will take part in a free, six or 12-week phone-based physical activity program. They will receive telephone coaching and support from a trained health coach to increase activity. Participants who plan and document their activity each week will earn up to $30 upon completing the study.

Calling all men who:

  • Currently live in a rural area;
  • Are between the ages of 18 and 65;
  • Are not currently exercising;
  • Can complete quick health surveys and wear a small thigh monitor at the start and finish of the program; and
  • Are willing to be randomly assigned to the six or 12-week program.
