Stroke and vascular neurology fellowship and training

Join our vascular neurology fellowship and get trained by nationally recognized faculty. You'll work with leaders in vascular neurology, neurointerventional surgery and neurosurgery. You'll also work with advanced diagnostic tools and cutting-edge reperfusion therapies.

Because OHSU serves as a major referral center for stroke patients, you’ll get exposure to complex stroke cases, as well as opportunities to provide virtual care.

Apply for our vascular neurology fellowship.

Oregon Stroke Center Summer Internship Program

The internship gives undergraduates exposure to clinical research and encourages students from diverse backgrounds to pursue further studies or careers in clinical research.

Stroke and vascular neurology research

Our research program has helped shape modern stroke treatment, including the development of thrombectomy devices.

We lead the way in national enrollment for multiple cutting-edge trials.

We were the top enrolling site in the OCEANIC-STROKE trial, which studied a new type of anticoagulant for stroke prevention. We were the second-highest enrolling site in the CREST-2 trial, and a top enroller for the Arpeggio and RESCUE trials.

Close collaboration with interventional and surgical teams allows us to develop and evaluate emerging devices, drug therapies and care pathways. At OHSU, we are at the forefront of translational stroke science.

Clinical trials

Librexia-Stroke study: Developed by Janssen Research & Development, this study compared milvexian to placebo for reducing risk of secondary stroke.
