About me

Dr. Maria Palazeti is a family physician. She is passionate about providing comprehensive and compassionate primary care for families. She believes in developing strong relationships with her patients. She also believes that understanding individuals within the context of their community is essential to good care.

Dr. Palazeti has special interests in maternity and obstetrics, women's health, pediatrics and long-term care of chronic conditions.

As a child, she admired her grandfather, who was a doctor, and wanted to be just like him when she grew up. After receiving her undergraduate degree and before beginning medical school, she did a year of AmeriCorps volunteer service with the American Red Cross. While in medical school in downtown Detroit, Dr. Palazeti saw the devastating health disparities often found in urban settings. She spent time volunteering as an HIV test counselor for the county jail and as an after-school tutor for elementary school children.

Originally from Michigan, Dr. Palazeti is excited to explore the Pacific Northwest. When she's not working, she enjoys biking, hiking, cooking and watching Michigan State football.

Insurance

Before scheduling an appointment

  1. Check your network. If you have health insurance,  call your company to find out if the OHSU Health location or provider you plan to visit is part of your network.
  2. Ask what you will pay. Your insurance company can tell you what your costs are likely to be.

If you schedule an appointment and your health insurance does not include OHSU Health, you may have to pay more than if you go to a provider in your insurance network.
