About me
I am a gastroenterology and internal medicine physician assistant who has practiced for over 15 years. I have worked in cardiothoracic surgery, cardiovascular critical care and various internal medicine specialties. I currently see patients at the OHSU Immediate Care Clinic in Richmond.
My approach to patient care emphasizes balancing medication management with nutrition and natural therapies. I believe in incorporating unprocessed foods, daily movement and yoga to improve symptom management and overall health.
I grew up outside of Chicago, Illinois, but I have lived in the Pacific Northwest since 2005. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Human Physiology from Northern Michigan University before attending the Physician Assistant program at Quinnipiac University, where I obtained my Master of Medical Science degree.
In my spare time, I enjoy traveling, commuting to work by bicycle, backpacking, hiking, cross-country skiing and snowshoeing. I live in the Portland area with my partner and our cats.
A favorite quote of mine: “Be the change that you wish to see in the world” - Mahatma Gandhi

Before scheduling an appointment
- Check your network. If you have health insurance, call your company to find out if the OHSU Health location or provider you plan to visit is part of your network.
- Ask what you will pay. Your insurance company can tell you what your costs are likely to be.
If you schedule an appointment and your health insurance does not include OHSU Health, you may have to pay more than if you go to a provider in your insurance network.

Friendly, concerned w my issue. Excellent follow up after appointment and test results.
Thoughtful, easy to talk with, not resentful of working on weekends.
Dr Tobin was very helpful to me at a very difficult time, and I really appreciated her and the rest of the care team!!
Very concerned and helpful
As always, excellent care!
Everything was good no issues pleasant
She was great
Felt very rushed. Incorrect charting was unfortunate. Was helpful in helping me find an optometrist
Jennifer listened, made me feel at ease and provided excellent medical
Super compassionate and helpful.
The doctor who saw me was one of the best practitioners I've seen in a long time. Super kind, respectful, helpful, informative. Just an amazing experience.
They did the best with what I reported as my symptoms. Non-obvious ailments such as leg tingling and cramping are hard to pin down in an urgent care setting.
Straight forward, clear, patient and thorough.
I felt comfortable with no type of pressure and for myself that means alot
Very attentive, checked out all of the bee stings and took out the remaining stingers
She was very nice and listened to my needs and helped me with all my issues I came in for :)
Very efficient and kind
Everything was good as usual except for the hold time to make the appointment.
The provider and staff at immediate care have been super helpful and available.
First time meeting this clinician and I felt good about her concern for my health concern that day. She also provided me with a solution to it. Thank you.
Everyone was very pleasant and helpful.
Compassionate, kind, intelligent, efficient, effective
Dr. Jen Tobin was excellent, and the nursing assistant was outstanding
Jen listens well. I felt well taken care of.
Very empathic, smart and helpful. I did receive a prescription that is recommended to be taken at bedtime when what I thought a muscle relaxer that wouldn't make me as drowsy was going to be prescribed.
Very good
Friendly and helpful staff, nurse and PA.
Seemed very capable.
Beautiful
Once I finally had an office visit my overall assessment is positive.
