About me

I am an orthopedic surgeon specializing in musculoskeletal oncology (tumors and bone disease). I focus on diagnosing and treating both benign and malignant tumors of the bone and soft tissues. This may include sarcomas and metastatic bone disease.

I treat patients of all ages—from children to adults and elderly patients—and I'm committed to providing expert, compassionate care during what can be a challenging time.

I work closely with medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, pathologists and other specialists to develop comprehensive treatment plans tailored to each patient's unique situation. This collaborative approach ensures you receive the full benefit of our collective expertise.

During your visits, I'll explain your condition clearly, show you your images so you can understand what's happening, and answer all your questions. My goal is to make you feel comfortable, informed and supported by my entire team and me.

When not working, I enjoy hiking or biking the Pacific Northwest wilderness.

Insurance

Before scheduling an appointment

  1. Check your network. If you have health insurance,  call your company to find out if the OHSU Health location or provider you plan to visit is part of your network.
  2. Ask what you will pay. Your insurance company can tell you what your costs are likely to be.

If you schedule an appointment and your health insurance does not include OHSU Health, you may have to pay more than if you go to a provider in your insurance network.

Visit our billing and insurance page for more information.

  1. Excellent experience

  2. Dr. Ramsey was very matter of fact while describing all the possibilities of what my scan showed. I don't think he had all my scans, and that may have informed the way he approached my situation.

  3. I felt I didn't get a chance to ask my concerns post surgery

  13. Perfect communication with patient and colleagues, they had discussed my diagnosis with three other doctors and came out with closest date for the surgery. Everyone treated me nice and with respect.

  14. I liked the doctor. It was my first time to see him. He listened and explained things in terms I could understand. The one thing that bothered me was he had three people who followed him into the room and he never introduced them, said why they were there, etc. My bad for not calling this out but it has really bothered me since.

  30. Dr. Ramsey was well prepared for our appt., he had studied imaging and my medical records. He did not show me my MRI in an enlarged view so that I could see details of my leg. My x-rays were not shown to me. His exam was visual, he did not not touch my leg. Questions I had, were deflected with other questions.
