About me

I’m a surgical oncologist who specializes in the care of patients with abdominal cancers:

I have a particular focus on cancers that have spread (metastatic). I have expertise in using HIPEC surgery to treat several types of cancer.

I partner with you to manage your cancer. I work as part of a team of specialists to support all aspects of your care, paying attention to your goals. It is a unique privilege to work with cancer patients every day. This is why I chose to become a cancer surgeon and what drives me to provide top-quality care.

My research focuses on using biomarkers (signs of possible cancer) to improve our understanding of who will benefit most from which treatments. I am interested in designing more inclusive clinical trials to make sure all patients have better access to advanced technology and treatments.

I grew up in Minnesota and have lived all over the country. I moved to Portland with my husband, also an OHSU doctor. Together with our son and our golden retriever, we enjoy hiking throughout the Pacific Northwest. I am an avid sports fan and expert yogi, and I love to bake and travel.

  7. Started out wanting me to explain in my own words which I greatly appreciate. Was well prepared by reviewing my file and CT scan. It was great she had a scribe so she could pay attention to our convo. I appreciate her thoroughness, physical exam and bedside manner very much. I would recommend her.

She obviously had read all the cancer related notes which made us feel confident in her ability to discuss my potential best treatment scenarios.
