New postdoctoral scholar orientation

Welcome to OHSU as a new postdoctoral scholar! You will be provided with lots of information and tools over the next few months as you transition into your new role. Here are a few resources to help you get started:

Postdoctoral scholar handbook

You can find OHSU's Postdoctoral Scholar Handbook on Sakai. This handbook provides information related to postdoctoral policies, procedures, and resources. 

Postdoctoral scholar Teams group

New postdoctoral scholars are automatically invited to the postdoctoral Microsoft Teams group maintained by the Office of Postdoctoral Affairs and the Postdoctoral Society. Teams is used to communicate important deadlines, advertise events, and publicize career and funding opportunities. 

Postdoctoral newsletter

Each month there is a newsletter collaboratively developed by the Office of Postdoctoral Affairs, the Postdoctoral Society, and Research and Innovation. This newsletter reports on items of interest for all postdoctoral scholars and features postdoctoral publications and awards.

To ensure you receive the postdoc newsletter, make sure your OHSU Now preferences are set to allow email notifications.

O2

The O2 is OHSU's intranet that includes many resources for employees. If you have a question about something at OHSU, you can often find the answer by accessing the O2. Your OHSU username and password allows you to log-in to this intranet.

OHSU Now

OHSU Now is the university's communication platform that unifies all communication in a central location. You can customize the news you receive through OHSU Now and access it in multiple ways. You can download the mobile app, navigate the website, and receive emails. This is the best and most convenient way to stay up to date on important OHSU news including events, funding opportunities, and professional development opportunities. 

Diversity and inclusion

OHSU has a goal to be a great organization, diverse in people and ideas. The Center for Diversity and Inclusion leads and supports institution-wide initiatives to create an environment of respect and inclusion for all. 

An important component of OHSU's commitment to diversity and inclusion is increasing awareness and understanding. The Center for Diversity and Inclusion has cultivated a variety of resources to help individuals from all walks of life, lived experiences, cultural backgrounds, faith, religious affiliation, philosophical beliefs, or non-beliefs access the OHSU environment.
