34th Annual Oregon Rural Health Conference

The 34th Annual Oregon Rural Health Conference was held October 18-20, 2017 at the Sunriver Resort, Sunriver, Oregon.

The annual Oregon Rural Health Conference is the largest gathering in Oregon dedicated to sharing information and showcasing innovative approaches to health and the delivery of health care in rural Oregon. The conference brings together providers, administrators, consumers, policy makers and others to exchange ideas and share expertise.

Continuing Medical Education Credits


Oregon Health & Science University School of Medicine is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians.


OHSU School of Medicine designates this live activity for a maximum of 9.75 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

Learning Objectives

  • Identify specific risks and challenges in volunteering in a medical setting for disaster preparedness
  • Outline basic principles to evaluate new health reform proposals and priorities for new primary care models to protect the financial health of rural hospitals and medical practices
  • Understand how to invest community benefit dollars in upstream and preventative care given state and federal regulatory changes
  • Identify policy changes at the federal level and understand how they impact the provision of care in rural Oregon
