About me

Dr. Suniti Kumar loves the challenge of Family Medicine. Taking care of patients of all ages, including prenatal patients, means constantly learning something new. Before joining OHSU, Dr. Kumar worked in rural Colorado, overseas in Asia and Africa, on the Apache reservation in New Mexico, and in migrant/underserved medicine. Her Obstetrics Fellowship training allows her to walk with her patients through pregnancy and childbirth, even when common complications arise. She is strongly committed to advocating for non-English Speaking patients, minorities, and others in marginalized groups.

Outside of work, she is a single mother of two children through adoption. She has lived in an environmentally friendly Intentional Community for 15 years. She enjoys camping, biking, yoga, meditation, cooking, traveling, and learning about other cultures. Her favorite days are when her children cook dinner for her (and clean up, too)!

Insurance

Before scheduling your appointment, we recommend you contact your insurance company to verify that the OHSU Health location or provider you plan to visit is included in your network. Your insurance company will also be able to inform you of any copayments, co–insurance, or deductibles that will be your responsibility. If you proceed in scheduling an appointment and your health insurance benefits do not participate with OHSU providers, your out of pocket liability may be higher. Visit the billing and insurance section of our site for more information.
