About me
Dr. Christiansen is a double board certified physician in anesthesiology and pain medicine who specializes in chronic pain management. Dr. Christiansen joined the faculty of the Comprehensive Pain Center in 2016 after completing her fellowship in pain medicine at Johns Hopkins Hospital. She currently sees patients in the Center for Health and Healing - Comprehensive Pain Center. She specializes in the treatment of cancer, neuropathic and spine related pain advocating a multimodal approach to all patients. Dr. Christiansen believes that chronic pain affects the mind, body and spirit and as such advocates therapies that will address all three aspects of the patient by collaborating with physical therapists, psychologists, chiropractors, and other specialists in effort to treat the entire person. In addition to performing a variety of spine, nerve, muscle, and joint injections, she is also formally trained in acupuncture, which she employs as part of her multimodal approach to patients.
In her spare time, Dr. Christiansen enjoys reading, gardening, hiking with her husband and Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, and trying new restaurants.

I trust Dr. Christianson implicitly. She's the best, very caring and kind.
Dr Christianson very kind and patient
Sandy Christanen is awesome. A fabulous physicaina and practitioner. I trust her completely and have had nothing but good experiences and outcomes with her involvement. And I am an ongoing and complicated case.
I have found her very easy to talk to, I feel she listens well and cares about helping me.
Very good
Dr Christiansen is excellent at explaining medical details and helping me understand all of my options.
Fantastic!
DR.Sandy CHRISTIANSEN and her team of doctors are always very professional and attentive to NeedS, And comfort, and always explaining what they're about to do next.
Dr. Christiansen is one of the best doctors I've seen in my 52.extremely competent and very empathetic.its a rare person that has both in my opinion . Her medical student was a bit rudeinterrupted multiple times and needs to work on his listening skills. Many of the questions and points he made were well discussed in prior visits.
All positive during procedure. But not long after I got COVID and pain returned. So relief not as good as it has been in past.
She is warm, communicative and the department is well organized and efficient. Everyone knew their job and all safety precautions followed. As ex hospital administrator I was impressed
Sandy and her students and staff are superb
I have undergone multiple lumbar facet nerve denervation procedures at OHSU. My experience with Dr. Christensen was orders of magnitude superior to the previous procedures. Far less painful, communicative, and Dr. Christensen and her team were the epitome of professionalism and competency!
Very nice and easy to talk to.

Sandy Christiansen is awesome! She's knowledgeable, responsive, helpful, empathetic and sensitive to patient's needs (certainly mine!) She's a gem and I'm so happy I found her!
Clear explanations but could have told me more about what to expect.
Dr Christensen is skilled and caring
Superbly competent,genial and compassionate.
Friendly, personal, knowledgeable, careful, and thorough
She is very kind and compassionate.
Jacob, the medical student, was great. Very thoughtful and kind. Dr. Christensen is the best! Always compassionate, professional but also very warm, extremely knowledgeable.
Dr. Sandy Christiansen and her entire team are superb.
Dr Christianson helped me a lot! She Persevered when Medtronic did not seem to be on the ball. She called Medtronic and got the clinician to call me. The clinician at Medtronic gave me slow, directions in order to let me write it down. I now think I'm pretty confident in adjusting the device to adjust. I feel that Dr Christian really helped to facilitate this. She rocks!
Dr. Christensen (and team) were amazing. I was a little grumpy to start because it took almost a week to even get scheduled and have my initial appt after my referral which also took a few days. However, once I was scheduled and seen, the staff was amazing during my virtual and in-person visit. Special thanks to Dr. Christensen.
Super friendly and knowledgeable
The communications were excellent, the entire team was engaged and followed the lead of Dr. Christensen. Having a team care for me gave me real confidence.
You mention a clinician, but I saw my doctor and her assistant who was also a doctor.
