  • Dec 01, 2018

My experience with Ryan Petering was very... it was very complicated. We discussed my problem with my hip and my knee and further steps, but he didn't seem like he wanted to answer some of the questions I had. He seemed like he was in a hurry to leave. So I will not recommend him because he didn't want to listen to the complaints or the issues I had thoroughly to the end of the session and he just wanted to tell me the... the diagnosis and the steps he wanted to take and leave immediately without fully listening to what I had to say. He also didn't want to sign some forms regarding *

Very thorough, thoughtful and considerate doctor and staff.

  • Oct 27, 2018

As with all OHSU staff (doctors, nurses, transportation, food services, custodial, etc), there is a culture of "the patient comes first". I have NEVER felt "processed" or rushed. I have always been accorded respect and my concerns have always been listened to. Dr Petering is an outstanding example of this.

  • Oct 27, 2018

    The meeting was good.

  • Oct 26, 2018

I was not happy with my experience. Per a recommendation from my physical therapist in Corvallis, I took off a half day of work and drove 1.5 hours to Portland for my consultation. During the consultation, I was not examined and the doctor did not ask me any questions about my condition (only the nurse and a resident asked me a few cursory questions). I was told that I could not proceed with the test I had come to consult about without first receiving imaging (an x-ray and an MRI). The reception staff knew that I was driving a long distance for the appointment and that I was concerned about the costs of any future procedures. I would have appreciated receiving this information over the phone since my physical presence wasn't necessary to come to this conclusion--only my records. I would not have made the wasted trip (and incurred the cost of the appointment and gas money) had I been better informed.

  • Oct 26, 2018

I like that Dr. Petering told me that if things didn't improve there are a variety of things that might help. But in the meantime I appreciate that he gave me at home exercises to try. Also he asked me several times if I had any questions and then answered when I had one. He explained what is causing my knee to hurt and what I might expect in the future.I will definitely return for another visit if things don't get better.

  • Oct 26, 2018

Quick/no wait time and then I get a lot of time with the doctor. Love it.

  • Oct 25, 2018

Very thorough...never felt rushed...considered all diagnostics available...professional...demonstrated genuine concern and eagerness to consider treatment.

  • Oct 22, 2018

Always present, thoughtful, prepared for a positive visit
