About me

A native of New York, I am a retired military ophthalmologist specializing in cornea and external diseases. I earned my medical degree from Albany Medical College before completing my residency in ophthalmology at the Walter Reed Army Medical Center. I continued my training by completing a fellowship in cornea and external diseases at Wilmer Eye Institute.

My clinical interests include refractive surgery (PRK and LASIK). My research interests include international ophthalmology, ocular trauma and laser refractive surgery.

I am certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and am a member of the National Board of Medical Examiners, the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, American Academy of Ophthalmology, and the Society of Military Ophthalmologists.

In my free time, I enjoy running, cooking, good food, and outdoor adventure with family.

Moreover, he stays current with all research in his field. He takes the time to answer all questions and concerns. I recommend him and Casey Eye Institute to my friends and colleagues.

  30. Doctor Stutzman is a superior practitioner at Casey. He is always interested in the patient's experience that brought the patient to his services. He is an advocate for getting things done if they are feasible and that makes the patient feel very thankful and appreciated. He interacts well with all of his staff members and they then interact effectively with a patient. OHSU is extremely blessed to have his services.
