About me

Dr. Matt Chan appreciates how family medicine allows him to help a diverse group of patients, while using a holistic and preventive approach to improving his patients' health. He is also excited to be among the many health care leaders and innovators at OHSU. Together, they provide some of the most progressive medical care in the country.

Dr. Chan believes that family medicine doctors will be at the forefront of transforming our health care system.

He has special interests in addiction medicine, obstetrics and women's health, musculoskeletal medicine, and using point-of-care ultrasound to aid in the diagnosis of medical problems.

When he's not working, Dr. Chan is often in the kitchen perfecting his cooking skills, or busting a groove to the radio. He embraces Portland's foodie scene, as well as Oregon's many outdoor wonders.

Insurance

Before scheduling an appointment

  1. Check your network. If you have health insurance,  call your company to find out if the OHSU Health location or provider you plan to visit is part of your network.
  2. Ask what you will pay. Your insurance company can tell you what your costs are likely to be.

If you schedule an appointment and your health insurance does not include OHSU Health, you may have to pay more than if you go to a provider in your insurance network.

Visit our billing and insurance page for more information.
