Leah Christine Werner, MD, MPH, FAAFP
Assistant Professor of Family Medicine | Oregon Health & Science University
Dr. Leah Werner is a family physician, public health leader, and academic dedicated to advancing health equity and strengthening healthcare systems through the integration of family medicine, public health, health policy, and climate-health innovation. Her work bridges direct patient care with population-level strategies to improve outcomes for both individuals and communities.
As an Assistant Professor at Oregon Health & Science University, Dr. Werner combines clinical practice with a commitment to teaching, mentorship, and systems improvement. Through her academic, clinical, and leadership roles, Dr. Werner views medicine as both a healing practice and a catalyst for systemic transformation. My first visit with Dr Werner. She inspired utter confidence.
They been good plus they help me
Dr. Werner always listens to my needs and addresses them fully.
Dr Werner was excellent as always. She saw me, listened to me and made me very happy with the care she provided and the plan we came up with.
Dr. Werner is such an amazing diagnostician, exceptional listener, and provides impeccable follow-up. In fact, she is such a rare and compassionate doctor that my husband and I have continued to engage with her as our primary care physician even though 5 years ago we retired 3 hours away to the Oregon Coast. It is worth a 6 hour round trip to be able to access Dr. Werner's insight, problem-solving, and support.
THE CLINICIAN LISTENED TO ME ABOUT MY PHYSICAL ISSUES AND ABOUT CONTRIBUTING MATTERS GOING ON IN MY LIFE. SHE DISCUSSED STEPS I NEEDED TO TAKE AND OTHER PLANS FOR MY HEALTH.

She was great! Thorough, kind and fun!
She took time telling me how hernia's can break the colon as they are attached; the toxic materials will spread throughout the body. She explored the area to make sure nothing was attached to the colon. She was so comfortable to work with.
