About me

Dr. Joe M. Skariah is a family medicine doctor. He provides comprehensive primary care, including obstetric and pediatric care. He also provides manual medicine as a treatment and believes in holistic care. 

In search of a clinic that would allow him to pursue his interests in rural medicine and academics, he joined OHSU Family Medicine at Scappoose in 2012. His patients and the staff make it a joy for him to come to work. Dr. Skariah is also director of the Portland Family Medicine residency program at OHSU.

Dr. Skariah is originally from Garland, Texas. He is married with two children and a canine companion, Maggie. He can sing all the songs from Disney’s “Frozen” in Spanish.

  2. To my nurse. Great with sharp objects. I wish my dentist was this good.

  4. Dr Skariah and his team have been consistently caring, professional, and diligent for the years we've seen them. I switched my insurance back to one that's taken at OHSU just to drive 25 minutes to Scappoose to return my care to Dr Skariah. This appointment was to review my new history during the break in my care and he was fully caught up on the notes, had plans, discussed options, listened to all my concerns and adjusted his suggestions based on what I shared, and explained everything he was doing and what was needed from me vesy clearly.

  5. Dr Skaryia and his assistant Shawna are great I love them they listen to what I have to say they're not involved doing other things not paying attention to me I really like that about them. When they come into the room to see me they know right away if something's wrong with me they can tell cuz they know me so well and that is priceless to me.

  6. I have used Dr. Skariah for years for our family and overall he is kind, gentle provider. However this particular visit my concerns were not really addressed for the most part and that was disappointing. Still would highly recommend him though as overall he has been great.
