Before scheduling an appointment
- Check your network. If you have health insurance, call your company to find out if the OHSU Health location or provider you plan to visit is part of your network.
- Ask what you will pay. Your insurance company can tell you what your costs are likely to be.

Dr. Jou is a superb communicator and was able to bring great clarity to the options I have. It was refreshing and very helpful
Dr Jou has been my oncologist for gynecological cancer for many years now, championing me throughout my treatment. Breast nodules have now shown up in a routine CT Scan, and Dr. Jou reached out to know about my mammogram and ultrasound results, and to reassure me that she will work with the breast cancer specialists should a biopsy turn up positive. Isn't that amazing? It's not even her field of expertise, yet she is showing up for me with care and concern. I am so grateful to her!
Understanding my concern and explain well to my questions
Very professional and listened to all my questions and concerns. Made me feel heard and she cared.
Answered my questions and did not make me feel stupid for asking them. Explained everything I needed to know. Especially appreciated the diagram and explaining what was going to be taken off. Offered a great alternative to the initial recommendation of previous oncologist. Was able to surprisingly find a PET scan date within 3 days so did not have to change the surgery date.
I would highly recommend her.
She is kind; efficient; well educated
Dr Jou listened to my concerns and answered my questions without seeming rushed. I felt like she was very sensitive to my fears and concerns.
Dr.Jou stopped by to see how everything was going. We discussed a joint pain issue and she reminded me about Zyrtec. Now I feel ready to take on this part of the therapy.
My doctors and nurses were experts through and through. They had plans for if something went wrong. They all came to visit me to explain next steps together. The operation was a success with very mild hardly any bleeding and the wounds healed up quickly and I was in very little pain-sore for a few days is all. It was a world-class experience. I don't think even a former president of the United States would have had a better experience. I was treated like a queen.
OHSU & the Knight Institute have been impressive. I like the team approach to treating my cancer.
