Insurance
Before scheduling an appointment
- Check your network. If you have health insurance, call your company to find out if the OHSU Health location or provider you plan to visit is part of your network.
- Ask what you will pay. Your insurance company can tell you what your costs are likely to be.
If you schedule an appointment and your health insurance does not include OHSU Health, you may have to pay more than if you go to a provider in your insurance network.

Dr. Ing is very friendly and helpful. She took care of my concerns and is very patient in explaining my issues.
Knowledgeable. Knew all pertinent facts. Personable.
Care quality and treatment effectiveness are positive. However, there are opportunities to improve patient communication and health literacy support:Information Access: Patients benefit from plain-language explanations and visual aids (diagrams, progression charts) alongside clinical chart data. Without these, understanding one's own condition requires specialized medical knowledge.Depth of Communication: When patients ask open-ended questions about their condition, more thorough responses help ensure informed participation in care. Patients shouldn't need to know the "right" questions to receive meaningful answers.Neurodivergent Awareness: Patients with ADHD may underweight subtly communicated risks. Clear, direct language about condition severity and consequences is especially critical for this population - understated messaging about serious conditions like glaucoma can contribute to delayed treatment and worse outcomes.Sharing this in hopes of improving communication practices for all patients.
On time, listened, discussed/planned care. Very pleasant, efficient.
She cares about how well you function with the vision you have. Concerned and informative.
Always explains clearly. Provides the info I need and more. Top dac!
Long time relationship with this provider. Unfortunately, today's visit was by far the most disappointing. The in room wait time to see her was way too long. When she arrived, it was clear she was not willing to spend more than the minimum amount of patient facing time. Questions were answered with minimal explanation and with the preception that she had minimal amount of time available. All in all, a disappointing and minimally productive experience.
I arrived on time for check-in. The front desk notified me that there were a number of other patients ahead of me. I was brought back to one of the rooms where the doctor would see me. I sat in that room for 45 minutes waiting for Dr. Ing to see me. An assistant was with me in the room for much of that time
Knowledgeable, professional, sensitive to patience needs
Very nice
There was a bit of a lack of communication with staff and the provider. The fact various tests were conducted did not seemTo be related to the provider and I was in a room waiting for over an hour before someone finally came
Dr ing, is up to date with the latest developments concerning eye medicine.
Pleasant, knowledgeable andEfficient
Smart, good
I always feel comfortable and know that I'm being well cared for.
Very knowledgeable and experienced glaucoma specialist.
I trust Dr Ing completely with my glaucoma care.
Everyone is very friendly
Dr Ing satisfies all my eye needs. She helpful. She listens and she extremely knowledgeabe. Sometimes she is booked way beyond her capacity. Often because of "way too many emergency visits" in one day. Last year when I had an appointment, she had 6 emergency office visits to deal with. It put her behind, way behind. I waited 2.5 hours. And she way complete exhausted by the time she got to me. I would say that was not her fault but it's hard to wait 2.5 hours for an office call. This time I waited about 45 minutes. Not sure if that's normal. I know during and after the Pandemic I was waiting less that 15 minutes and that was delightful. I also love all the visiting docs and residents who come in while she is with other patients. They have time to give me lots of information about glaucoma and trabeculectomies. I ask lots of questions.
I love Dr. Ing. Yes, it's true that I waited last appointment for nearly 3 hours for my 2 pm appointment because she had an emergency surgery, I was told. It wasn't my favorite thing to do, but if I had an eye emergency that required her immediate attention, I would want her to attend me too. Waiting is rarely an emergency in the clinic, even though inconvenient for more than a short time. I and others can afford to wait for her care, which is as important in emergencies as it is in routine care like mine. Everyone apologized profusely for the delay, but I reassured them that it was not a problem, and that I understood her patient's need. I would react the same again. She's worth waiting for!
