About me

I’m Courtney Lauer, a Physician Assistant specializing in reproductive health, diabetes, and preventative health. I provide treatments such as gender-affirming care, contraceptive care, laceration repair, abscess incision and drainage, skin biopsies, and joint injections and aspirations.

I value genuine relationships with my patients and approach each person individually, meeting them wherever they are on their healthcare journey. My goal is to assist patients in reaching their health goals by empowering them with the knowledge, resources, and care they need.

Outside of work, I enjoy reading, running, playing and watching soccer (Go Timbers!), camping, and traveling whenever I get the chance.

Insurance

Before scheduling an appointment

  1. Check your network. If you have health insurance,  call your company to find out if the OHSU Health location or provider you plan to visit is part of your network.
  2. Ask what you will pay. Your insurance company can tell you what your costs are likely to be.

If you schedule an appointment and your health insurance does not include OHSU Health, you may have to pay more than if you go to a provider in your insurance network.

Visit our billing and insurance page for more information.

  1. Wow, I was so impressed with Courtney Lauer, a PA I had never seen before. I was there for a concussion and she knew all about concussions! So I felt safe and heard by her, as well as being so impressed by her skills! She's top-notch and Richmond Clinic is lucky to have her.

  2. Compassionate, kind, genuinely made me feel important, excellent at their profession.

  3. Wonderful! Very competent and compassionate, polite and professional, engaging and responsible, all the right qualities! I will look forward to all my future appointments with pleasure!

  4. She's wonderful! Best doctor I've ever had. She listens to everything I have to say and does everything she can to help!

  5. My clinician was very helpful and encouraging. She referred to my record and gave me helpful tips

  6. Dr. Lauer has been such a gift. She really seems to care for her patients and treat them with so much respect. I always feel like she is listening to me and trusting me to be the one who knows my body best even though I don't have the health expertise that she does. It's really refreshing to have a conversation with a care provider that feels so collaborative. I'm so grateful she joined the Richmond clinic!

  7. Helpful, kind, quick but thorough.

  8. I really like this clinician and the team, everyone is very nice and attentive, thorough and considerate. I always feel listened to and respected

  9. Courtney was outstanding in all areas. Very good listener and very thorough and professional.

  10. I loved her demeanor, professionalism, and attention to detail.

  11. She was efficient and kind.

  12. She was very nice and helped ease my anxiety

  13. Hard to assess a referral. This was my first time seeing a new PCP. I need to trust someone before I recommend/refer them. That doesn't happen in one visit.

  14. I'm a relatively new patient with this clinician, but all my experiences have been very positive. She is informed, kind, proactive, and a great listener.

  15. Courtney Lauer was knowledgeable about notes from my surgery the previous week which was very reassuring. My immediate problem, suddenly swollen feet, was addressed with recommendation to get compression stockings and made the appropriate measurements so I ordered them as soon as I got home and was wearing them a day later - all very reassuring that the issue could be addressed promptly. Then, amazingly, the swollen ness disappeared after 3 days.

  16. I am so pleased with Courtney and the staff at Richmond Clinic. From the receptionists to the PCP, everyone is kind, thoughtful and warm. Courtney listens and reassures. I feel fortunate she is my PCP.

  17. Everyone was so kind and professional

  18. Did not seem comfortable with trans terminology, etc which is the whole reason I go to Richmond clinic

  19. She listened carefully. We talked about different options available and best options for my situation.

  20. She was professional yet welcoming. She answered all my questions and gave me and provided information I wasn't expecting so all was good

  21. She is patient and she listens, she is willing to discuss alternative methods for care as well making sure that all my concerns and needs are met. She is a very positive and friendly professional while being professional. She makes you feel comfortable and taken care of.

  22. I was blown away by how thorough Dr. Lauer is. I came in with an idea of what I wanted to do, and not only did she take everything seriously, but she offered even more help than I was expecting.

  23. She is very young and intelligent and thorough; However, the visit time did not allow enough time to answer all my questions.

  24. Clementine and Courtney took time to listen to me.i did not feel rushed.very positive experience

  25. The nurse and doc were great!

  26. Knowledgeable, compassionate, proactive.

  27. Love all the staff and my pcp is amazing

  28. They were very informative, personable, I didn't feel rushed and they addressed all of my questions and accommodated my requests!

  29. She listened to my concerns, validated them and came up with a plan of action with my consent. She also performed a physical exam to check for what might be causing me knee pain.

  30. First visit with this clinician who will be my new pcp. I was favorably impressed with her questions, attitude, ability to steer us back on track after I got us off track and her pleasant personality. A good mix of business and kindness. Essential. She took my concerns into account and was not dismissive.
