About me
Dr. Andrew Wang, a family doctor, enjoys establishing long-term relationships with patients and helping them manage their health. His interest in medicine was fueled by volunteering at a Portland clinic that serves people with limited access to health care.
Dr. Wang, when he was an emergency department medical scribe, recognized a growing need for primary care. He became passionate about community health and decided to become a family medicine doctor. “I strive to promote the health and well-being of my patients and my community,” he says.
Dr. Wang was born in New England and spent most of his childhood in the small town of Millbury, Massachusetts. He moved to Portland as a teenager.
He spends his free time with his wife, a registered nurse, and two children. He is a diehard fan of the Portland Trail Blazers and Seattle Seahawks. He likes running, and has finished the Portland Marathon twice. He also enjoys trips to the Oregon Coast, where you will often find him searching for glass floats in Lincoln City.

Insurance
Before scheduling an appointment
- Check your network. If you have health insurance, call your company to find out if the OHSU Health location or provider you plan to visit is part of your network.
- Ask what you will pay. Your insurance company can tell you what your costs are likely to be.
If you schedule an appointment and your health insurance does not include OHSU Health, you may have to pay more than if you go to a provider in your insurance network.

Thorough, professional, and friendly.
Dr. Wang was very responsive, clear and to work with. I'm sure he was busy but when he was with me I could tell that all of his focus was on me and I appreciate that. I also had a follow-up question in which he was very quick to respond via the MyChart app.
For an annual wellness check the clinician took his time to give evaluation and state best practices for my best health, and also answered my questions. He referred to my records and test results in giving advice. He also let me know which decisions were mine as a patient. It was a very satisfactory visit.
Dr. Sims was very thorough and listened well to what I said
Dr Wang was, as usual, very informative and friendly.

Dr. Wang is great!
Extremely helpful in explanation
Dr. Wang seemed very organized, personable, efficient, and knowledgeable. His exam seemed thorough, circumspect, and effective. His explanations were clear though necessarily simplified. His advice was reasoned with a specific course of action appropriate to my situation.
Dr. Wang is great!
Dr. Andrew Wang is wonderful. One of the best Primary Care physicians I have ever had. I have lived all over the US in many different states and cities.

Wang is A++
Hi is an excellent physician who always takes time to u destined my needs and concerns
The best
Great resident but he doesn't know me or my history so made poor assumptions. I'll need to come back several times to get the facts and my issues straight. I miss not having the same provider for years. Not ideal starting over every year or 2
