About me

Dr. Sokolova specializes in caring for men with prostate cancer. She chose oncology because she values the special connection she has with her patients. She is honored to carry the responsibility of walking hand-in-hand with her patients during the most challenging times in their lives. She approaches each patient as a whole, addressing all aspects of their health and provide access to the best treatment that makes sense for them. Her special interests are in prostate cancer genetics. She has completed Intensive Course in Cancer Genetic Risk Assessment at City of Hope and has spent time at Memorial Sloan Kettering Genetics clinic. Her research focuses on helping men with prostate cancer and those with hereditary cancer syndromes to live well.

In her spare time, Dr. Sokolova and her husband enjoy spending time with their daughter and two cats. Dr. Sokolova also enjoys hosting family and friends, gardening and doing yoga.

  6. Doctor Sokolova is incredible. She is brilliant and empathetic, and I am lucky to have her as my doctor. One of the things I most appreciate is that I never feel rushed nor put off when I need to ask a question. At the end of our appointment I had a list of "research questions for the future" that I put away because I had already taken so much of her time. She said "please" and I handed her a copy. She went down the list one item at a time telling me the answer, which sometimes consisted of "I've never heard of this, but we'll see." It was one of the most impressive things I've ever seen. She not only demonstrated the depth of her knowledge but her confidence in WHAT she knew by pointing out areas where she didn't know something. Outstanding!

  13. We have worked with Dr Sokolova for a long time, really appreciate her knowledge and concern. Appreciate doing remot visits because we live in the upper Hood River valley, at least 1.5 hours from OHSU.

  14. I saw Dr. Soklolva and Dr. Hung. I was very impressed with their knowledge and explaining clearly my situation. They work as a team to come up with treatment plans. I have no doubt I am in the best hands to tackle my cancer. A great feeling when your life suddenly changes with a cancer diagnosis.
